Program Overview
Master core prehospital skills and decision‑making used every day by EMTs. Train in airway management, patient assessment, trauma and medical emergencies, and safe operations—then apply what you learn during supervised clinical and field experiences.
What You’ll Learn
- Airway, oxygenation, and ventilation
- BLS resuscitation and AED use
- Patient assessment: medical and trauma
- Pharmacology fundamentals at the EMT scope
- Hemorrhage control, immobilization, and splinting
- EMS operations, documentation, and professionalism
Outcomes
- Preparation for the NREMT cognitive and psychomotor exams
- Pathways to employment with EMS agencies, fire departments, hospitals, and transport services
- Foundation for Advanced EMT or Paramedic study
Admissions & Requirements
- Government‑issued photo ID and reliable transportation*
- High school diploma or High School equivalency strongly recommended
- Current BLS certification required or provided in class (confirm on schedule)
- Ability to meet clinical partner requirements (immunizations, background check, drug screen)
- Physical ability to lift and move patients with a team.
- TABE Pre-entrance exam required
