How to Apply
Follow these steps to apply for admission to one of our career training programs.
Pre-Acceptance Requirements
- 1Apply online along with a non-refundable application fee ($50 for Dental Assisting, Practical Nursing, and Surgical Technology; $30 for all other programs)
- 2Meet with Admissions staff to discuss your program, tour the school, and receive general financial aid information
- 3Schedule and pass the TABE entrance exam (required for Dental, Nursing, Surgical Tech, EMT, and Firefighter programs; $20 non-refundable testing fee)
- 4Attend an interview (if applicable to your program)
- 5Complete BCI/FBI background check
Upon Acceptance
- Provide an unexpired, valid, government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport)
- Submit official high school transcript or high school equivalency diploma/certificate
- Complete FAFSA at studentaid.gov (School Code: 007473) — allow 48 hours for processing
- Schedule appointment with Financial Aid office at 330-744-8703 to determine eligibility and establish payment method
- Attend mandatory program orientation
- Submit signed Enrollment Agreement
- Submit completed paperwork given at orientation
- Begin required prerequisites (immunizations, drug screen, etc.)
Financial Aid
Choffin offers several options to help you fund your education. Our financial aid team is here to guide you through the process. Complete your FAFSA at studentaid.gov using School Code: 007473.
Federal Pell Grant
Need-based federal financial aid that does not require repayment. Available for programs over 600 clock hours.
Federal Student Loans
Subsidized and unsubsidized Direct Loans with low interest rates and flexible repayment options.
Workforce Funding
WIOA, TRA, BVR, and TechCred funds may be available. VA GI Bill benefits accepted.
Payment Plans
Non-interest payment plans available. Business/agency sponsorships and private scholarships also accepted.
