Dental Assisting Program

If you have a passion for helping others, enjoy working with your hands, have a willingness to be versatile, and assume responsibility for many different tasks, dental assisting is the career for you. Our facilities include 24 lab stations and 8 fully equipped treatment areas in our on-site clinic where patients receive care. The faculty consists of Dentists, Hygienists, and Certified Dental Assistants, that are dedicated to teaching and helping you to succeed in your chosen field. This will enhance your learning experience with knowledge and skills on current dental equipment and procedures.

This is a 9 month program. Classes are 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday) during September thru May.

Attending Choffin allows you to gain a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) Credential without waiting to have 2 years full-time working experience to sit for the exam.

This comprehensive program includes work in:

  • Anatomy, Physiology, Oral Embryology and Histology
  • Microbiology & Disease Transmission
  • Pharmacology & Local Anesthesia
  • Tooth Morphology & Prevention
  • Radiology
  • Lab and Chairside Materials & Procedures
  • Dental Specialties & Ethics

During the program, students will take three components of the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) exam to become a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA).

Estimated out of pocket costs: $1030.00

Additional fees may incur for vaccinations if you can not provide documentation of required vaccinations as well as other unforeseen fees due to licensing changes.

Program Prerequisites:

High School Diploma or high school equivalency, Pre-entrance testing, interview, background checks, vaccinations, and drug screenings during the course of the program.

Financial Assistance

All courses over 600 hours are eligible for Federal and State Financial aid programs.
